Winners of 2025 IMRO Radio Awards Annnouced
Hosted by Dermot Whelan, the ceremony recognised outstanding achievements across 42 categories spanning news, music, sport, current affairs, entertainment, and innovation. This year marked a milestone, with the highest number of entries in over a decade — a testament to the enduring power and relevance of radio in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
Among the standout honours of the night:
- Local Station of the Year – Clare FM, recognised for its deep community engagement and consistently high-quality programming.
- Music Station of the Year – RTÉ Lyric FM, celebrated for its rich and diverse musical curation.
- Full Service Station of the Year – Today FM, acknowledged for its broad appeal and excellence across content formats.
The evening also paid tribute to the 2025 Hall of Fame inductees, each of whom has made a lasting contribution to Irish broadcasting:
- John Bowman (RTÉ) – a voice synonymous with thoughtful analysis and historical insight.
- Fr. Brian D’Arcy (BBC Radio Ulster) – known for his warmth, wisdom, and decades of service.
- Scott Williams (ONIC) – a pioneer in commercial radio and media innovation.
A special Outstanding Achievement Award was presented to RTÉ Radio 1’s Liveline, marking its 40th anniversary. The programme continues to be a vital platform for public discourse, giving voice to the concerns and stories of everyday people.
