The Shona Project Launches Ambitious Three-Year Strategy
The event was attended by PRII CEO, Laura Wall, alongside leaders and advocates committed to empowering young women.
Opening the event, Áine Kerr, Chair of The Shona Project, highlighted a critical challenge: while many teenagers are excelling academically, they are struggling in life.
Founder Tammy Darcy outlined the organisation’s ambitious goal to engage with 160,000 girls aged 13–19 every year over the next three years—a mission that will require significant funding and support from individuals and organisations alike.
The audience also heard moving personal stories, including Aisha Hassan, who credited The Shona Project with giving her the confidence to succeed, and Jacqueline Kyne, Co-founder of Kyne Foundation, reminded everyone of the importance of giving back in whatever way we can.
Since its inception in 2016, The Shona Project has made a remarkable impact on the lives of teenage girls across Ireland, and its plans for the future promise even greater change.
