New Digital Handbook Empowers Communicators to Combat Mis/Disinformation

In a move to address the growing threat of misinformation and disinformation, a coalition of global organisations has launched “Tackling Mis/Disinformation – A Global Digital Handbook for Communicators.”

This new resource equips public relations and communications professionals with practical tools, ethical frameworks, and strategic insights to uphold information integrity in an increasingly complex media landscape.

Spearheaded by the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO) in collaboration with the Council of Europe, The Trust Project, European Association of Communication Directors (EACD), Global Women in PR (GWPR), European Public Relations Education and Research Association (EUPRERA), and International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC), the handbook offers actionable guidance on topics such as media literacy, AI’s role in mis/disinformation, fact-checking strategies, and fostering international cooperation.
