IAPI Census 2025

The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) has released its 2025 Census, revealing a resilient and forward-looking communications and advertising sector.

Based on data from 22 member agencies— representing 65% of IAPI’s workforce — the report highlights strong revenue growth, expanding international reach, and deepening client relationships.

Key Findings:

  • Revenue Surge: Average agency revenues rose by 24% in 2024, with a further 20% increase in H1 2025. Media billings climbed 13%, underscoring sustained demand.
  • Client Confidence: Retainers now make up 36% of agency income (up from 22% in 2023), reflecting a shift toward long-term partnerships built on trust and collaboration.
  • Global Ambitions: 59% of agencies are exporting services, and 55% of domestic clients are leveraging Irish agencies internationally — a clear signal of global confidence in Irish creativity.
  • Supporting Startups: Half of the agencies work with new Irish brands founded in the past five years, helping drive an average growth of 14% for these clients.
  • Workforce Growth: Over 3,000 professionals now work across IAPI member agencies — an 11% year-on-year increase and 35% growth since 2021.
  • Hybrid Success: 86% of agencies report effective hybrid working models, with most operating two- or three-day office weeks.

The Census paints a picture of an industry that’s not only adapting but thriving — with collaboration, innovation, and international ambition at its core.
