CongRegation 2026: Exploring Trust in Cong, Co. Mayo

CongRegation, Ireland’s unique three-day unconference, returns to Cong, Co. Mayo, from November 27th–29th, 2026, with Trust as its theme.

Now in its 14th year, the event brings together curious minds from different backgrounds to share ideas, challenge assumptions and spark conversations across disciplines.

Unlike a traditional conference, CongRegation is built around participant contributions. Attendees earn their place by submitting an original contribution on the theme, which becomes a starting point for discussion during the weekend. Submissions can take many forms, including articles, poems, songs, videos, audio recordings and artwork.

The weekend begins on Friday evening with Trust Tales at Ashford Castle, featuring four speakers exploring trust from different perspectives. Daragh O’Brien examines trust, truth and governance; Michael Comyn explores trust as a skill; economist Jim Power considers trust in economics, markets and finance; and Dr Jennifer Scott shares insights from her experience of earning trust and managing organisational reputation.

Saturday’s programme features nine events across venues in Cong, with informal huddles, opportunities for discussion and four workshops following the final huddle. The weekend also includes an open mic after dinner, giving participants another opportunity to share their ideas and talents.

The theme invites contributions on trust in relationships, institutions, business, technology and ourselves, alongside the challenges of earning, maintaining and rebuilding trust.

With submissions already arriving, organisers are encouraging participants to contribute early, allowing others to explore their ideas before the event.

CongRegation 2026 takes place November 27th–29th in Cong, Co. Mayo. For details on the theme, submissions and programme, visit www.congregation.ie.
