Almost 4 million tune into radio every week
This grew by 128,000 listeners compared to the same 12-month year on year.
Other highlights from the survey include:
- 3.5 million people listen to the radio each weekday — an increase of 103,000 listeners compared to the same period last year.
- 90% of all adults and 85% of 15-34-year-olds listen to the radio every week.
- Over 2.2 million adults listen to their local or regional station every weekday.
- For the 15 to 34 age cohort, 20% of all their radio listening is now through a connected device with a smart speaker.
- Over 70% of people listening to the radio in Ireland tune into independent local, regional or national stations.
