Tilly Heneghan, MPRII - Continuing a Proud Legacy
Heneghan Strategic Communications welcomed Tilly Heneghan as Senior Account Manager to its team in 2025, and for many in the profession, the surname will be instantly recognisable. Tilly brings with her an impressive cross‑sector communications background and a family legacy deeply woven into the history of the Public Relations profession and the Institute.
Tilly arrives with a blend of agency and in-house experience spanning Ireland and the UK. Her background includes strategic communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and high‑profile external and internal communication campaigns, particularly within the technology and telecommunications sectors.
She previously held key roles at National Broadband Ireland, contributing to major national communications work; at Voneus Broadband in the UK, where she served as Communications Manager; and at Positive, a London-based PR agency, where she managed communications programmes for clients in fast‑paced tech and telecoms industries.
Today, Tilly is based in London, working closely with Heneghan’s international and domestic client portfolio while strengthening the firm’s footprint across both markets.
Alongside her professional experience, she holds a Masters in Social Science from University College Dublin.
A Legacy Rooted in the PRII
A new member of the PRII, Tilly’s arrival is particularly meaningful to many PRII members because of the legacy she represents. Both her father, Nigel Heneghan, and her late grandfather, Pat Heneghan, are Life Fellows of the Institute. Notably, each held the role of President of the PRII during their distinguished careers.
This rare multi‑generational contribution to the profession is a point of pride within the Institute’s history. Now, with Tilly advancing her own career in strategic communications, the Heneghan name continues to play a role in shaping the future of public relations in Ireland.
