Hometree Appoints Laura Costello as Chief Communications Officer

Hometree strengthens its leadership team with a high‑profile communications appointment. Laura Costello steps into a newly created C‑suite role to help shape Ireland’s nature restoration movement.

Hometree, the nature restoration charity expanding its impact across Ireland, has appointed Laura Costello, MPRII, as its new Chief Communications Officer, a strategic, newly created executive role reflecting the organisation’s growing national ambition.

Costello joins Hometree from Thinkhouse, where she continues to serve as Head of Sustainability and Planet Services, providing senior counsel on sustainability strategies for leading brands. Her career spans global organisations and mission‑driven causes, with extensive experience in strategic communications, brand leadership and cultural change.

She is also Director of Purpose Disruptors Ireland, the non-profit reshaping how the advertising industry aligns with the natural world. A noted thought‑leader on advertising’s responsibility in climate action, Costello recently led the Creative Ireland‑funded Good Life 2030 initiative, the first collaborative industry effort to creatively challenge overconsumption during Black Friday. Her impact has earned international recognition, including being named by Forbes as one of “43 people changing advertising for the climate.”

In her new role, Costello joins Hometree’s executive leadership team and will lead the charity’s communications, brand and public engagement strategy, helping to build nationwide understanding, participation and support for long‑term ecological restoration.
