Former senior government adviser to lead expanded Springboard public affairs practice
Springboard Communications, the award-winning independent Irish communications agency, has expanded its public affairs practice with the appointment of Aimée Millar as Client Director and Art O’Mahony as Client Manager. Aimée, a former Special Adviser in the Department of An Taoiseach and Senior Legislative Affairs Advisor, will lead the practice from the agency’s Dublin office.
The appointments follow a period of sustained client growth. Springboard Communications also won PRCA Agency of the Year for the third time in 2026.
Susie Horgan, Managing Director and Founder of Springboard Communications, said: “The decisions that shape our clients’ operating environment are rarely made in one place. They start in a council chamber, an internal party-political meeting, or a regulator’s office and they finish in a Government department, an Oireachtas committee or the Dáil chamber. Very few advisers work the whole of that chain. With Aimée and Art, and with teams in Dublin and Cork, we do.”
Commenting on her appointment, Aimée said: “Public affairs works when you see change coming, understand where the decision is actually being made, and engage early and credibly. Springboard already has real depth across local and regional government, and a strong record in energy, infrastructure and the public sector. My job is to connect that to national policy, and to build a practice in line with clients’ needs.”
Aimée is Chair of Strategic Development and a Non-Executive Director at Aoibhneas Domestic Violence Refuge. She was a finalist for the PRII Young Communication Professional of the Year in 2025 and was appointed a PRCA Next Generation Leader in 2026.
Art O’Mahony joins Springboard following an international career across public affairs, policy and communications. He most recently worked as a Policy and Communications Specialist in the Victorian State Parliament in Melbourne, where he worked on projects such as the 2025 Australian federal election and a successful campaign to hold a parliamentary inquiry into the 2026 Victorian bushfires. At Springboard, he will work across advocacy programmes, stakeholder engagement and political monitoring.
The expanded practice brings together political and policy monitoring, government affairs, advocacy, strategic counsel, coalition building and critical response. It operates across Springboard’s Dublin and Cork offices, along with its presence in Limerick, giving clients one truly national team that works the full chain of decision-making, from local authorities and regional bodies through to Government departments and the Oireachtas.
