The IEA is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Communications & Policy Support Executive to develop high-quality content, communications and policy outputs across the organisation.

This role will focus on researching, drafting, and refining a wide range of materials including briefings, reports, submissions, press releases, and member communications. The candidate should be comfortable working in a support role to Senior Leadership. 

Content & Communications

Research, draft and edit a wide range of content, including:

  • Reports, submissions, and briefing documents
  • Articles and thought leadership pieces
  • Press releases
  • Member communications and web content
  • Proofread and refine all external communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy
  • Support the delivery of the organisation’s communications calendar across digital and print channels
  • Assist in developing case studies, insights, and member success stories

Senior Leadership & Executive Support

  • Prepare briefing notes, speaking points, and presentations
  • Briefing materials and minutes for stakeholder engagements and meetings
  • Draft key documents, reports, and correspondence
  • Support thought leadership and external messaging
  • Conduct background research on trade, policy, and industry topics
  • Translate ideas and technical content into clear, structured, high-quality outputs

Policy Support

  • Lobbying and EU Transparency Register returns
  • Support the preparation of submissions, consultation responses, and position papers
  • Monitor relevant national and EU policy developments impacting exporters
  • Summarise complex regulatory or policy topics into accessible content

Events, Webinars & Stakeholder Support

  • Assist with communications for events, webinars, and member engagement initiatives
  • Support preparation of briefing materials for meetings with stakeholders and partners

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Economics, Journalism, English, Communications, Political Science, Public Policy, or related field
  • 2–4 years’ experience in communications, content, research, or a similar role
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong research and analytical ability
  • Ability to take direction and translate ideas into high-quality written outputs
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Interest in business, trade, or policy (no requirement to be a policy expert)
