Independent Radio Sector launches Inclusion and Diversity Strategy
With 70% of listenership in Ireland and many regional stations being the leading radio service providers, Ireland’s independent radio hopes that the strategy will serve as a catalyst for change and help its members to be well-placed for opportunities in this area.
The strategy has been developed by the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI), representing 34 local, regional, multicity and national stations, and the training organisation for the sector, Learning Waves. CEO of the IBI is Micheal Kelly FPRII.
Moreover, the strategy aligns with Coimisiún na Meán’s Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy for those involved in film, television, radio, audio and animation production in Ireland, which was launched earlier this month.
