The Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) is the national representative body for professional Public Relations and Communication practitioners. Members of the Institute enjoy a range of benefits, including: -

Recognition of standing as a professional communicator Indicated by the designation MPRII, which may only be used by full members, it shows that members meet the high ethical, educational and experiential standards required by the Institute.

Access to the Member Database Full, Affiliate and Associate Members can access, search and browse the public listings of other PRII members on the website here.

Free Weekly E-zine A free subscription to the PRII Digest, e-mailed every week with the latest industry news, views, articles, course updates and job listings.

Advocacy On your behalf the Institute advocates on major regulatory changes and other issues that impact your professional work – for example, such things as the Regulation of Lobbying Act, copyright reform, social media disclosure policies, the future of media and changes in Government procurement procedures.

Direct Legal Advice The PRII enjoys Approved Professional Body Status with the Bar Society of Ireland which enables all members to avail of their Direct Professional Access Scheme.  This means that you can seek a legal opinion on non-contentious matters from a Barrister directly without having to go through an instructing solicitor. They can be consulted on employment law, commercial & insurance law, data protection, taxation and many other matters. Membership Assistance Programme (MAP) All members can avail of this 100% free and 100% confidential counselling and advice service.  Experienced PRII MAP councillors are on hand 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to assist with a wide variety of personal or work-related issues.  Full details on how to access the service are shown here.

Regulatory Changes When regulations are changed or new regulations are introduced, the Institute offers guidelines, training, advice and information to members.

PRII Sourcebook Ireland’s most comprehensive and GDPR-compliant database of media, public affairs and other professional contacts is free for all Full members and at a reduced cost to Associate and Affiliate members. Available online it can be viewed and searched wherever you are on PCs, tablets and smartphones.

Training The PRII is Ireland’s leading provider of training for the Public Relations and Communication sector with over 20 single-day workshops annually, designed to provide attendees with the skills needed to progress their careers and enhance sector knowledge. Training is offered at a reduced cost to members.

Certificate Programmes These career-relevant courses are offered on a wide range of subjects and are structured to develop specialist expertise and transferable skills through practical learning.  They include Internal Communications, Crisis Communications and Issues Management, Public Affairs, Account Management, Social Media, Event Management and more.  They are delivered by a blend of in-person and online training and assessed by a work-related project.

Events PRII offers a full programme of events annually, including a full-day Annual Conference, half-day theme-specific conferences, breakfast and lunchtime expert briefings and roundtables.  The Institute also hosts a number of exclusive member-only events each year.

Awards All PRII members are entitled to enter the annual Awards for Excellence in PR and attend online briefings and workshops on finessing and submitting entries.

PRII Diploma in Public Relations Accredited by the PRII, this is Ireland’s most widely recognised PR and Communication qualification.  The course is offered at a discount to members.

Cannes Young PR Lions Members are entitled to enter the annual Cannes Young PR Lions competition and attend briefings/workshops on how to win a chance to represent Ireland at the Cannes Festival of Creativity on the French Riveria.

Networking Opportunities Meet and network with professional peers at virtual and in-person PRII events, training courses, workshops, conferences and briefings.
