The Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) represents the Communications and PR profession in Ireland, supporting a community of 1,000 members through education, professional development and industry leadership.

As we continue to evolve our events, education programmes and digital engagement, we are now recruiting a Marketing Communications Executive to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with 2–4 years’ experience in Marketing / Communications / PR/ Events who is confident across digital platforms and event management, and who is curious about how technology continues to shape the way we connect and communicate.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a central role in shaping how PRII engages with members, partners, media and the wider Communications and PR profession.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on role at the heart of our communications activity.

You will:

  • Support the delivery of PRII’s marketing and communications plans
  • Lead social media content creation, planning and engagement
  • Manage and develop our digital channels — website, weekly e-zine and community management on socials
  • Manage the event administration and planning
  • Promote our training programmes, CPD courses, workshops and briefing events with our Head of Training and Development
  • Market and support flagship initiatives including our Annual Conference and Awards for Excellence
  • Develop sponsorship materials and help nurture strong partner relationships
  • Contribute to raising the profile of PRII and the Communications and PR profession externally
  • Track performance and identify opportunities to strengthen engagement

Events are a key focus — you will play an important role in building visibility, driving attendance and ensuring our programmes connect with both members and non-members.


About You

You’re organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership. You enjoy variety and balancing creative thinking with delivery.

You will likely have:

  • 2–4 years’ experience in Marketing / Communications / PR / Events (agency or in-house)
  • Social media management experience — planning, creating and analysing content
  • Experience promoting events, programmes or campaigns
  • Excellent writing skills across digital platforms
  • Confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • A team player, working with a close-knit team in Merrion Square

You are also:

  • Curious about developments in technology and digital communication
  • Interested in how engagement is evolving across professional and membership communities
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a very collaborative and supportive team

Technical skills:

  • Experience with email marketing platforms, website content management systems, virtual meeting tools, AI tools.
  • Canva and design skills are a strong advantage.
  • Basic video editing or mobile-first content creation is a bonus.
