This is a full-time permanent role at Executive Officer level, ideal for a multimedia professional with experience in video production and content creation.

An Garda Síochána is recruiting for an Audiovisual Content Creator at Executive Officer Level based in Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park, Dublin 8. This position is for a communications professional specialising in the production of audiovisual content – mainly videos and photography.

The Audiovisual Content Creator will be responsible for developing audiovisual content to promote the work of An Garda Síochána. This includes highlighting crime prevention and safety advice and supporting press office activity and internal communications activity.

This role sits within the Corporate Communications Unit which is headed by an Assistant Principal. This unit is responsible for An Garda Síochána’s digital and social media presence, the Garda website, public-awareness campaigns, Crimecall television programme and corporate reports. While this role sits within the Corporate Communications Unit, the successful candidate will also work closely with the Press Office and the Internal Communications Unit. The post will operate standard hours. Candidates must be in a position to travel to different locations as required for this position.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Audiovisual Content Creator may include: 

  • Creating content to support the objectives of the Office of Corporate Communications.
  • Plan, shoot, edit and distribute content. This may include:
  • Video creation. 
  • Photography.
  • Set up and run live media briefings.
  • Manage live streams at events.
  • Stakeholder liaison, engagement and management (particularly around logistics of planning content creation and clearance procedures).
  • Effective time management - efficient use of resources and content so that multiple uses can be garnered from material produced.
  • Help develop new and innovative ways to communicate to the media and the public.
  • Liaise with external production and content creation companies.
  • Update social media with content produced.
  • Creation of relevant graphics.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Office of Corporate Communications to achieve shared objectives, including crisis communications.
  • Perform any duties appropriate to the position which may be assigned to support the objectives of the Office of Corporate Communications​​​
