Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for client management including strategy support, production of client deliverables, and monitoring and analyzing political, policy and market issues. They will provide integrated public affairs and corporate communications advice to blue chip Irish and multinational businesses. They will identify and oversee business development by providing input on the production of pitch decks and materials to present to potential clients.  The role involves the ability to effectively manage budgets and teams and the capability to think and apply solutions quickly.   As a thought leader, the successful candidate will develop articles, op-eds, and blog posts and represent the firm publicly. They will be responsible for providing intelligence and analysis on market developments and will ensure a current network of contacts in the government and among key stakeholders.

Scope of Work

  • Lead day-to-day account management and serve as the working level point of contact for clients, addressing issues thoughtfully, timely and effectively.
  • Lead the delivery of integrated public affairs and corporate communications programmes.
  • Supporting strategy development with client stakeholders and business partners to identify and organise project goals.
  • Providing clear, confident and well-informed counsel on strategies to various client business partners and stakeholders.
  • Managing account administration, including staffing (utilization and productivity targets), budgeting, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Monitoring and analyzing political and policy issues affecting clients.
  • Developing innovative and influential thought leadership content.
  • Leading new business development.
  • Representing the firm publicly as a subject matter expert.
  • Providing in-depth intelligence and analysis documents on market, policy and political developments beyond the surface-level headlines.
  • Maintaining and expanding a network of contacts in government and key stakeholder groups.
  • Partner with clients in crisis management and prevention.
  • Meet commercial targets and achieve portfolio revenue growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 12+ years of experience in government, political parties, the civil service, NGOs, associations, or private firms.
  • Degree (BS/BA, MA, MBA) in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in public affairs, policy and legislative matters and corporate communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional record of leadership, strategy development and expertise in client management.
  • Proven and respected thought and business leader.
  • Experienced in effectively influencing, managing, and developing diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to support the development of effective pitches for new business, as well as advance internal initiatives.
  • Deep and trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and solve complex problems while making decisions with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Relationship builder, demonstrating an ability to listen and respond to a wide variety of constituencies.
  • Strong communicator with ability to articulate a persuasive and cohesive point of view.
  • Candid communicator who can organize, clarify, and communicate complex ideas quickly, succinctly, and accurately.
  • Sound business judgment to navigate through everyday client and team challenges.
  • Able to identify and implement operational efficiencies to maintain the financial health of accounts.
