The PRII MAP was launched on Tuesday 1 September in a special PRII Webinar attended by more than 50 members. The event was hosted by PRII CEO Dr Martina Byrne and Michael Garrow from Spectrum Life, alongside PRCA Chairperson Mari O'Leary and PRII President Padraig McKeon.
The complete range of available supports was outlined, together with full details of how to register for the free service and how to connect with Spectrum Life counsellors by Freephone or via the online MAP Portal. PRII MAP's expert service provider is Spectrum Life.Launching the Members Assistance Programme, Dr Byrne said: -
"This is something we've wanted to do for some time, certainly before we ever heard of Covid. We felt it was the most equitable way to use the Benevolent Fund so our members could benefit when they needed it most. And as the PRCA have also contributed to the Benevolent Fund, their members benefit too.
But I'll agree the timing is apt. People and organisations have achieved amazing things in the past few months. What we have learned is that this crisis has become an ongoing issue, that Covid will be 'with us for some time' so the next test is to continue to mind ourselves, look out for each other, and ensure we have the reserves of stamina, confidence and creativity to keep going.
This too will pass, and the PRII are committed to maintaining this membership service into the future".
