Purpose of the role:

Provide support to the Client Manager / Client Director on each client account through the development and implementation of PR and Communications strategies (covering both traditional and digital channels) for the client. Maintain and develop positive working relationships with the media and with clients to ensure the successful delivery of PR/Communication initiatives.

The candidate will work predominantly on integrated brand communications campaigns for our consumer clients, but may also be required to support teams across the business from time to time.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Actively servicing a range of clients in association with the Client Director/Client Manager to include campaign research and team support.
  • Assistance in the development and implementation of PR strategies.
  • Development of strong relationships with media to include pitching, writing news releases and proactive initiatives to influence client products / services / stories within the media.
  • Evaluation of campaigns once complete.
  • Creative input and planning for social, digital and offline initiatives and campaigns.
  • Client community management across various social media platforms.
  • Assistance with, and participating new client pitches.
  • Maintaining positive working relations with clients through regular communication, meetings and reporting.
  • Client budget management to include factoring in overall project costings and ensuring delivery within budget.
  • Researching background on clients’ sectors and specific client related issues from all relevant sources. Keeping abreast of events/activities within the media in relation to clients, their competitors and the industry.
  • Establishing and maintaining co-operative relationships with media and external partners (including up to-date knowledge of current suppliers).
  • Providing information for databases to ensure they contain up-to-date relevant information.
  • Providing advice, support and guidance to junior client executives.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

Qualifications:

  • A relevant third level qualification (e.g. communications, digital marketing, public relations, journalism)
  • PR related qualification desirable

Essential Experience / Skills:

  • Industry knowledge (including exposure to media) with at least 18 months practical agency experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook
  • A flare for creative thinking, excellent written communications skills, and a clear understanding of social media and digital marketing

Desirable but not essential:

  • Solid experience in consumer/corporate/public affairs
  • Experience of managing projects
