What you'll do

As a Public Affairs Consultant, you'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Ulster Bank Ireland DAC Public Affairs strategy in an effective and coordinated manner. We'll look to you to provide clear, accurate and timely briefing papers, supported by detailed research and analysis.

As well as this, you'll:

  • Deputise for the Head of Public Affairs in the Republic of Ireland as required 
  • Develop and implement a central research database to support stakeholder engagements
  • Assist in the management of the external lobbying register and any other external reports as required
  • Manage the external engagement register and spread sheet including reviewing what external working groups we sit on as an organisation
  • Prepare senior executives for meetings with key stakeholders, ensuring they have the necessary documentation
  • Build trusted relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with understanding and experience of working across a large organisation and building internal networks and contact points. Along with a sound understanding of researching and writing briefings for a senior audience, you'll have good written communications skills with a high level of attention to detail.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of Ulster Bank at all levels of the organisation and an ability to work collaboratively across key business divisions
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic and day-today management of industry and political issues and groups
  • The ability to work on your own or as part of a team to meet tight timelines
