In this role you will

  • Develop and implement our external communications strategy to ensure the views and needs of our members are understood at the highest levels of business and public life.  Our active calendar sees a comprehensive mix of traditional and new media, events, speeches, research and political engagement
  • Have strong input into the formation of Institute policy across our areas of expertise, working with our top-tier membership from all business sectors and leading accountancy practices
  • Act as strategic counsel to the President, CEO and Leadership team on all aspects of communications
  • Lead a tight, focused PR team based in Dublin and Belfast while collaborating closely with our marketing and partnering effectively other functions across the Institute to ensure integrated communications
  • Plan and manage the annual Presidential programme to reflect presidential objectives
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with media and political stakeholders
  • Develop and manage our business risk analysis and crisis communications plans

What we’re looking for

This is a senior role reporting to the Head of Marketing and Planning and working closely with the Chief Executive and President.  The right candidate will be able to show:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field with a minimum of five year’s relevant experience
  • First class stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Superb writer
  • Knowledge of business/financial services or strong appetite and interest in learning
  • Very credible presenter and speaker
  • A proven track record in building and implement communications strategies across all media types including digital
  • Strong network of media and political contacts
  • Proven project management experience with the ability to work to deadlines and budgets
  • People management experience
