Grade VI – Press Officer - HSE

Every year the HSE delivers health and social care services to the population of Ireland – and the Press Office helps inform the public, the media and our stakeholders about the outstanding work that our staff do and the services we provide. We want you to help us tell those stories.

The successful applicant will be joining a team of professionals that;

  • highlights services for patients and service users
  • responds in an agile way to the demands of the fast-moving news cycle
  • promotes the positive work being done in the HSE
  • supports Sláintecare reform
  • prepares for the roll-out of Regional Health Areas in 2024.

Aside from raising awareness of the work of the HSE you’ll also be building and maintaining trust and confidence in the HSE with journalists and the public.

Key Competencies Required

  • Experience in a press office environment engaging with and responding to media queries.
  • Experience in a communications role, which has included the following areas; media relations, corporate communications, public relations, public information campaigns or digital media.
  • Experience in project management and the delivery of communications projects.
  • Proven track record of managing a broad cross section of internal clients and competing demands.
