As the primary fundraising agency for The University of Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, TDA is charged with responsibility for, and solely exists to support, the fundraising and alumni engagement of Trinity.

The team is expanding and we seek to appoint a talented and experienced individual as our new Events Executive. Events are an integral part of the work we do, supporting fundraising and facilitating an expanding alumni community. This is an exciting time to join the team. Role & Purpose

As our new Events Executive you will work within the Communications & Supporter Relations Team to deliver a high quality, impactful programme of events, targeted at the various networks of stakeholders (alumni and students, donors and supporters).

Working alongside the Events Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of specific events from conception to evaluation within this team and a wide variety of other event activities as assigned by the Events Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver key TDA events, project managing all aspects of event planning and production.
  2. Pre-event planning (venue availability, budgeting, issuing invitations, manage replies).
  3. Promotion of events on digital and social media platforms.
  4. Event delivery (running order preparation, attendee listings, liaison with relevant staff, catering, attendance at the event).
  5. Oversee post-event administration (thank yous, updating the database, supplier payments).
  6. Complete post-event evaluations to evaluate if event objectives were achieved and what lessons were learned ensuring ongoing improvement and excellence.
  7. Plan, record, measure and report on activity (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
  8. Undertake other duties as may be assigned from time to time by line manager.

Required Experience & Skills

Qualifications

  • Third-level qualification in communications, marketing, event management or a related discipline.

Experience and Knowledge (Essential)

  • Candidate should have at least two years’ experience in an event management role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, writing and editing abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Motivated, flexible and able to use own initiative in a busy working environment.
  • Diligent and highly organised, experience of structuring workload and timelines and ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to display diplomacy and foster good working relationships with colleagues and other College groups.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms.
  • Strong computer skills – MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Understanding of, and passion for, the role and value of a university in society.

Experience & Skills (Desirable)

  • Experience with customer relationship management databases or equivalent desired.

Terms

  • The reporting line is to the Events Manager.
  • This will be a two year fixed-term contract.
  • There will be a six-month probationary period.
  • The hours are 9am-5pm; however, you will be expected to work evening and weekend when required.
  • Occasional travel as required.
  • Salary will reflect the nature of the job and the experience of the candidate.
  • Employee may join the group health insurance scheme. Employee will be entitled to join the TDA Pension Scheme, once probationary period is satisfactorily completed.
