The Sustainability & Public Affairs Executive will be responsible for maintaining progress and leadership on social, environmental, and economic issues.

Responsibility includes:

  • Coordination and production of the Sustainable Cork Webinar Programme
  • Managing and implementing sustainability initiatives for the Chamber’s Sustainable Cork Council
  • Evolution of the Sustainable Cork Programme
  • Drafting of consultation submissions, letters, articles and editorials
  • Coordination and facilitation of advocacy meetings and stakeholder groups
  • Representation of the Chamber membership on stakeholder forums and steering groups
  • Drafting and production of the Cork Chamber Quarterly Economic Trends Survey
  • Contribution to Chamber communications activity, from weekly newsletters to press releases, to social media and Chamberlink magazine
  • Research of wide-ranging policy, and ability to dissect key information and set out Chamber positions
  • Explore and develop opportunities, partnerships and collaborations
  • Challenge and offer solutions and pathways to develop internal and external activities, and advocacy to ensure thought leadership and leadership through action.

The ideal candidate should be degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as government/public affairs/ sustainability/business etc and have at least 3 years’ experience in sustainability, government, communication, and advocacy. The successful candidate will play an active role in both driving and shaping the Chamber agenda. They should have a proven track record on advocacy and sustainability and contribute positively and with energy to Ireland’s most active regional business advocacy team.
