JOB ROLE:

Working as a Marketing Communications Executive in the Marketing department and reporting to the firm’s Communications Manager, the role focus is to provide effective and efficient internal and external communications support to the Communications Manager through internal and external communications activities and materials, advising internal clients on appropriate communications methods for their projects and delivering expert communications support. This support includes the successful management of the firm’s communications calendar, implementing communications plans for key firm internal and external campaigns when necessary and contributing to the smooth running of the Communications team. This team is responsible for developing the firm's brand and profile both in Ireland and internationally through the delivery of a high quality external communications strategy. In this role you will also provide support across the firm’s media and PR, digital and advertising programmes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role as a Communications Executive you will have responsibility for:

  • Coordinating the firm’s communications calendar to include email marketing, digital and social communications, PR, collateral and advertising. 
  • Writing and delivering internal and external communications to support key organisational changes and new Matheson initiatives.
  • Crafting content for all internal communications, leadership communications and key Matheson leadership events.
  • Supporting the development of Matheson’s internal communication channels, including screens, newsletters, and working with dedicated internal partners.
  • Supporting key business areas that issue internal communications through the development of on brand templates and advising, reviewing and editing those communications where necessary so as to maintain the consistency of Matheson’s tone, style and language.
  • Developing and implementing communications plans for certain firm projects and important Matheson initiatives following briefings from partners, the leadership team and business support functions, under the guidance of the Communications Manager.
  • Support other members of the Communications team and the wider Marketing team when appropriate, for example contributing articles, blogs, banners, posters etc. for key campaigns and picking up other regular channel responsibilities when required.
  • Working with the Communications Manager in order to improve the effectiveness of internal communications through RoI analysis including feedback fora and staff surveys with a view to driving employee engagement through internal communications.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • You will have 1-2 years’ Marketing Communications experience gained in professional services or a modern B2B marketing environment. This will have given you expertise in effective communications processes within the B2B environment.
  • You have a developed both internal and external communications expertise across all relevant communication channels and media platforms.
  • You are experienced in the application of digital communications strategy and the use of social media and online platforms.
  • You have the ability to build successful internal and external relationships with key stakeholders.
  • You are an effective communicator with a natural flair for detail and accuracy and the skill to collaborate with other members of the team and to coach colleagues in effective communications skills and techniques.
  • You display a strong work ethic, are able to multi-task and prioritize projects, tasks and assignments while delivering excellent client service and sometimes working to tight deadlines.
  • You possess excellent English language skills – written and oral – with a thorough understanding of English grammar and current usage and are able to write good quality, compelling copy in plain English.
  • You are pragmatic, creative and forward-thinking; able to produce project plans and timetables on own initiative and work without supervision when necessary.
  • You are IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You have demonstrable experience of managing relationships with external suppliers.

  • You have a "Can do" approach to work with a willingness to get involved and help out where and when needed
