Job Purpose:

Communications:  to implement the operational steps of the Association’s communications and advocacy productions, events and assets.

Partnerships:  to lead the Association’s relationships, service offerings and engagements with our Affiliates and non-member companies, developing current and new relationships.

Core responsibilities:

The Communications and Partnerships Manager is responsible for the delivery of the operational steps to implement key communications activities of the Association.  This includes production and release of communications assets generated solely within IPHA as well as liaison with vendors for productions of materials with member companies in the Innovate for Life series (see IPHA website).  It includes organization of online productions, for example, the IPHA Forum series, as well as in-person events such as our annual Conference.  Planning, engagement of contributors, vendor management and co-ordination are all standard operational steps involved.

Relationships with Affiliates and other non-member companies/ organisations are a key part of IPHA’s overall reputation and stakeholder relations work.  Particular emphasis is placed on two distinct areas, the IPHA Affiliates Programme and www.medicines.ie for companies that place product information on the site.  The Manager is responsible for developing and sustaining good relationships and value-satisfaction among all IPHA partners.  The Manager will develop and implement an annual Affiliates Programme of services and engagement with Affiliates.  He or she will also sustain and, where possible, grow the number of pharmaceutical company users of medicines.ie, manage customer relations and ensure satisfactory communications of the service offering to all existing and new customers of the site.  The Manager is responsible, with others, to sustain revenue generation through new business development ideas and offerings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Communications and Partnerships Manager is responsible for:

  • Operational steps in the delivery of IPHA communications
  • Social media activity to support communications
  • Planning and executing an innovative programme of virtual and in-person events
  • Managing non-member company relations for Affiliates and Medicines.ie users
  • Leading the creation and delivery of top-quality content assets for affiliates and other external stakeholders
  • Achieving revenue maintenance and development targets

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Experience:

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum four years full-time experience of successful communications operations/ marketing and customer relations, preferably in Ireland
  • In depth knowledge of the communications environment in Ireland
  • Communications / marketing degree at Bachelors or equivalent level
  • High level of IT proficiency, in particular in social media content development and usage
  • Capacity to understand and promote website analytics and other services for www.medicines.ie
  • While knowledge of, or prior experience in, the pharmaceutical industry is not essential, the ability to learn new technical, industry-specific knowledge quickly, learning and taking direction from technical experts, is required
