Purpose of the role:

Client Managers in Drury are collaborative, encouraged to think creatively, trusted to be self-directed and to lead work, with the reassurance and support of the broader team from Executives through to Directors. Managers in Drury act as a pivotal point of contact for clients and are responsible for the effective management of client accounts encompassing the full PR spectrum. This role will provide support and direction to junior team members and delegates work to Client Executives.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the effective management of all aspects of client accounts.  Assists in the planning and coordination of integrated communication strategies and tactics for clients in association with Client Director.
  • Monitoring and escalating issues with clients and Client Director in an agreed manner.
  • Liaising with media on a daily basis to continuously develop relationships to the benefit of the client and Drury.
  • Deciding creatives, drafting and preparing plans for clients including creative input and planning for social, digital and offline initiatives and campaigns.
  • Interacting directly with clients providing advice and support, briefing clients on areas affecting their business and input into the management of the commercial relationship with the client.
  • Supporting the Client Directors to exploit the potential of clients with particular emphasis on proactive development of ideas/initiatives.
  • Working with the Client Director to ensure required resources including manpower are available to enable the highest delivery of service.
  • Monitoring and input into the management of the commerciality of each client within the portfolio including fee arrangements, billing, invoicing, budgets. Delivering strong chargeable hours in their own right.
  • Identifying, generating and developing new business, to include cross selling of other services within Drury individually or in liaison with their team.
  • Participating in internal initiatives to assist in the continuous development of Drury.
  • Keeping abreast of developments within the industry and continuously increasing sectoral knowledge and understanding.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

Qualifications:

  • A relevant third level qualification (e.g. communications, digital marketing, public relations, journalism)
  • PR related qualification desirable

Essential Experience / Skills:

  • Specific job related knowledge and experience (3-5 years) and/or other relevant industry knowledge.
  • Strong digital and social skills.
  • Drive, sound judgement and creativity.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and to assume responsibility for the delivery of outstanding client campaigns.
  • Strong contribution to new business activities.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Evidence of working successfully in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
