The role requires an individual who is capable of working on their own initiative as well as part of a team, can meet deadlines and is hard working. The individual must have excellent verbal and written skills, strong attention to detail and have the professionalism to communicate and interact with clients, media and suppliers on a daily basis.
This role will be fast-paced and always interesting. The chosen candidate will be given the opportunity to work directly with clients in a variety of sectors and further their network of contacts.
Paul Allen & Associates prioritises on the job training for its employees and will also provide opportunities for further learning and upskilling where possible. The chosen candidate’s input and creative thinking will be valued at all times, and they will play a key role in brainstorming, developing new ideas and strategic decision-making.
The role will also involve a strong level of input into new business development, giving the chosen candidate experience of every stage of the process.
The successful candidate will be performing the following tasks in their day-to-day duties:
Contributing to developing and nurturing strong and sustainable relationships with key client contacts
Working across multiple duties and meeting tight deadlines
Assisting other team members in their individual roles when required
Developing and implementing public relations campaigns for clients
Drafting a wide variety of written materials, including press releases, opinion pieces, blogs etc.
Attending and contributing at client meetings and events
Contributing to developing communications strategies for clients in a wide range of sectors
Contributing to new business development as part of the team
A third-level education is required from diploma level upwards preferably in the fields of Public Relations, Journalism and Media/Communications/Adverting.
Experience in a public relations environment is desired, but not essential. We will accept experience in other environments where similar skills were deployed.
Candidates should demonstrate the following skillsets in the application process:
Hardworking and ambitious
Excellent writing skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
A professional and positive attitude
Strong knowledge of the Irish media landscape is essential
Strong knowledge of the Irish political landscape is preferable
Ability to work to tight deadlines serving clients’ needs in tandem with various media platforms such as print, broadcasting and various social media
