The new role could be at account executive or account manager level (or even a very sharp graduate) depending on the person’s skills - we have considerable flexibility in how we structure this. In addition, the role could be full-time or part-time as there is some flexibility in the timing and volume of work that we do.

JOB ROLE: Role – Account Executive/ Account Manager

The role will involve:

  • Supporting the management of client accounts
  • Copywriting: reactive commentary, press releases, feature articles and social media posts
  • Participating in client meetings – brainstorming, agreeing strategy and planning actions
  • Liaising with media personnel on behalf of clients: Pitching press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online; handle any incoming enquiries and request from media
  • Rolling out press releases and commentary to press, strategizing re target audiences and media targets etc.
  • Monitoring coverage and analysing PR coverage and providing written reports
  • Social Media engagement: Management of SoMe channels for certain clients; Deliver analytics reports on social media, reporting on traffic, engagement and follower figures

Knowledge

The candidate will need a basic understanding of some of the products and services in at least one of the following areas of personal finance – Life & Pensions, Car & Home Insurance, Mortgages, Personal Tax, or Credit Unions & Banking. Extensive knowledge, while beneficial, is not an absolute requirement of the role.

A knowledge of the Irish media landscape and good working relationships with media personnel would be a plus.

Skills

  • Creative thought in ideas generation to develop media campaigns and boost brand & business profiles
  • Excellent writing skills - the ability to convert material and data into simple but interesting messages
  • Ability to think and act quickly in developing pro-active & re-active communications strategies
  • A self-starter who is energetic, enthusiastic, persistent, creative and motivated to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Awareness of value of time and the ability to maximise the use of the time allotted to each project/ client
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both clients and media personnel and develop good working relationships with all parties
  • Strong IT skills will be useful – a passion for and knowledge of digital media will be considered a plus

Experience

Depending on whether the candidate is applying for the Manager or Executive role the following will be necessary:

Executive

  • A third level qualification in communications and/or a financially related qualification
  • 2+ years’ experience in a communications or financial services role

Manager

  • A third level qualification in communications and/or a financially related qualification
  • 5+ years’ experience in a communications or financial services role
