Notice of PRII Annual General Meeting - 30th January 2018

Members should be receiving notice of the 34th Annual General Meeting of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland Limited in the post from today. The AGM will take place on the evening of  30th of January 2018 at at 6:30 p.m. sharp in the:
 
Royal Irish Academy
Dawson Street
Dublin 2
 
Nomination papers for the vacant positions on National Council are enclosed with this notice.

There is one motion before the AGM: that Padraig Slattery FPRII in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the practice of public relations, be elected as a Life Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland.
 
This motion has been proposed by the PRII National Council and will be considered as part of the business of the evening which will also include receipt of the annual report of the directors and the statement of accounts to 30th September 2017, the report of the National Council, the report from the Honorary Treasurer, appointment of the auditors, election of Directors for the National Council.

Only Full Members (MPRII) in good standing (i.e. current year subscription having been paid) are entitled to vote at the AGM.

The AGM will be followed by a reception for members and the presentation of Fellowship to the Institute's four new Fellows - see below.

Notices of motions, in writing, signed by the proposer and seconder, should be received by 5pm on Thursday, 18th January 2018. Motions, properly received, will be notified to members in advance of the general meeting.
 
There are a number of vacancies on National Council including one general member from any sector of the profession and four others, one to represent each of the following areas of the profession:
  1. PR consultancies
  2. Education
  3. Charity/NGO
  4. Sole trader

Any Full PRII Member in good standing, who is interested in helping to shape the future of the profession and in the interests of the profession is eligible to stand.
