Awards for Excellence in PR 2023 Launched

The 2023 Awards for Excellence in Public Relations were launched on 13 December. 

Full details about the categories, rules, entry deadlines and everything else you need to enter are now available in the Brochure.

The briefing on ‘How to Impress the Judges’ and The Young Communication Professional of the Year by the 2022 Judging Panel, led by Neasa Kane Fine, FPRII, Chair of the Judging Panel and an Entries Auditor and PRII CEO Dr Martina Byrne, was held on 12 January 2023 between 12-2 pm. Advice and tips were provided by previous Young Communication Professional winners as well. 

The categories remain the same this year.

Key Dates:

• Entry deadline: Strictly Tuesday 7 March noon – no extensions
• Shortlist Announced: 10 May
• Awards Ceremony: 16 June

Top Tips:

• Provide detailed information on target audiences, and consider using personas.
• Don’t leave out requested information eg sample media releases. Judges can’t give points for neglected sections.
• Do not use AVEs as a form of Measurement.
• Don’t assume any prior knowledge on the part of the Judges i.e. explain the context of the work.
• Be explicit about what is special, and what is excellent, about your entry.
