PR Meitheal: Reasons to be PRoud!

Four weeks ago the PRII put out a call for a PR Meitheal, a gathering of public relations professionals, willing to offer their time and expertise to help members of The Charities Institute. The work of some charities is more directly affected  by Covid-19 than others, but all have been impacted to some degree, whether that is providing additional services/information for their service users; having to move communications on-line in a hurry; or a need to secure supports from local and national Government.

Since then 57 people have responded, ranging from early career to retired, from recent graduates to Life Fellows, with a whole spectrum of skillsets to offer.

Martina Byrne, CEO, PRII and Liz Hughes CEO, The Charities Institute, have been matching the PR volunteers with individual charities needs.

So far, we are delighted and proud to say that 28 matches have successfully been made and our Covid Comms Volunteers are already lending their considerable talents and expertise to help Charities Institute Ireland members deliver positive social impact in these difficult days.

To all our volunteers, thank you, and take a bow!
