Dr Tina McCorkindale, President & CEO, IPR - Keynote Speaker at PRII Annual Conference

Tina McCorkindale, PhD, APR, is president and CEO of the Institute for Public Relations, an independent non-profit devoted to research that matters to the profession. A member of the Arthur W. Page Society and the PRSA Foundation Board, she was inducted into the PR News Measurement Hall of Fame in 2018 and has been honored by the PRSA Educators Academy for outstanding contributions to the advancement of PR education.

On 24 October at the PRII Annual Conference 2019 Tina will speak on the challenges and opportunities presented by technology, especially Artificial Intelligence, for PR practitioners in the next decade.  She will also explore what this means for the skill sets and knowledge needed by the PR professional now and in the future.

Tina has enjoyed a long and illustrious career in corporate communications and research with Cymfony, Vision Technologies and Cision amongst others.  She has worked with clients in technology, insurance, pharmaceuticals, transport, finance and more.

As CEO of IPR, she oversees academic research into business communication and the practical application of research findings.  She is a vocal advocate of a scientific approach to measurement and the inclusion of behavioural sciences in PR.  Her current research focuses on social media with specialisations in mobile technologies, engagement and reputation.

A resident of Seattle, Tina has more than 30 academic publications to her credit including the Public Relations Review, Journal of New Communications Research and the Journal of Social Media in Society. She has taught in several universities including Cal Poly, the University of Vermont and Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok. She has also served on the boards and committees of many of America's PR industry organisations.
