This year’s PRII Annual Conference will explore the development of PR in Ireland, acknowledging the longevity of the profession, its place as a key management function, and its contribution to economic, social and cultural activity in Ireland over the decades.
The programme which is available here will mark and celebrate the 65th anniversary of the founding of the PRII but also look to the future with a discussion on emerging trends in technology such as AI and blockchain.
A keynote address from Martin Shanahan, Chief Executive, IDA will set the context for how the PR an communications profession has and continues to build the fabric of Irish society and industry.
The conference will also specifically discuss how the landscape in which PR and communications professionals work continues to change.
For the view from the other side of the communications fence, Niall McGarry, founder, Maximum Media, and Seamus Dooley, Irish Secretary NUJ will be discussing how developments in technology, media consumption and regulation have affected journalists and publishers and how PR professionals can adapt to maintain strong media relations.
Pat O’Doherty, Chief Executive of ESB will talk about the ‘ESB and Public Relations: Communicating a Brighter Future’, while Liam Reid, Corporate Relations Director with Diageo will talk about ‘The Corporate & The Community’.
The success of the campaign to introduce ‘The Smoke-Free Workplace’, and how Ireland became a global leader will be presented by Valerie Robinson, FPRII.
The 2018 PRII Annual Conference will take place on Thursday, 29 November in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8.
