Matheson LLP is seeking to recruit a Bids Team Lead to join its team. This role is suited to someone who has experience creating compelling content with strong communication skills and people management experience. Ideal for someone interested in joining an award winning law firm or changing sectors. The Bids Team Lead will be responsible for managing and orchestrating all pursuits and leading a highly motivated team supported by robust systems and technology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the bid team, providing guidance and support to ensure that everyone is working effectively towards the common goal.
  • Strategic Oversight: Develop a strategy for the bid function including identification and integration of new technology to support the function and hiring and developing strong bid managers.
  • Bid Management and Coordination: Develop a plan for each bid including background research to understand the target, the competitive landscape, and ensuring that the bid aligns with the firm’s strengths and objectives. Create and manage the bid plan and schedule ensuring that all deadlines are met. Work collaboratively with practice groups and other business service functions, assign tasks, set milestones, and track progress to keep the bid on track and ensure all parts of each bid come together cohesively to deliver a compelling message about the firm.
  • Content Development: Oversee the creation and review of bid content, ensuring that it is clear, compelling and always tailored to each specific opportunity. This involves working closely with subject matter experts to develop persuasive proposals and working with third party creative vendors to develop visual concepts, formats, templates, audio elements as well as templates to assist with the speedy production of collateral when required.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that every bid is of high quality, free from errors, well presented and compliant with the client’s requirements and guidelines. This includes reviewing drafts and final submissions.
  • Bid Submission: Oversee the final submission process, ensuring that all documentation is complete and submitted on time. This includes managing the logistical aspects of the submission.
  • Post-Bid Review: Conduct a post-bid review to evaluate the process, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement. This helps in refining future bids and improving the overall bidding process.
  • Bid Process Development: Work closely with other business services functions to develop innovative solutions to support bid production and introduce systems, tools and processes to generate efficiencies around bid production.
