On Thursday, March 30, PRII members gathered to hear Government Press Secretary, Feargal Purcell, share his insights into government and political communication. The format was an open Q&A moderated by PRII President, Cian Connaughton MPRII. The event took place at the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin 2.

The discussion covered over a large number of topics, from Feargal’s background with the Irish Defence Force, the differences between opposition and government, the changing media cycle, general election slogans, the need for further professionalisation of government communications amongst other issues.
