The PRII are pleased to host an important and free Members only briefing on Thursday 30 November at 11.30 am online with Orla Twomey, CEO, ASAI and Sara MacNamara, Senior Research Analyst, CCPC.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) and the Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI) recently published new and significant guidance for Irish influencers on the clear labelling of ads on social media.

It is important that all those working in public relations read the guidance carefully here.

As well as remind themselves of their obligations under the PRII Codes of Ethics and especially the PRII Guidelines on Engagement with Social Media Influencers read here.

The new guidance addresses paid promotion, items ‘gifted’ by brands or PR agencies and in-house teams, and advertising of own-brand products and services. It also affects employees of companies or brands re-posting company or brand materials.

There will be plenty of time for a Q&A and, if you wish, you can submit a question you’d like asked, in advance, by emailing Loading... using ‘Influencer Guidelines’ in the subject line.
