In the last few years we have seen an explosion of new desktop and mobile apps emerge that allow us to easily integrate live video into our communications plans.

Organisations are using these to help build awareness, as a way to connect in real time with customers, to share breaking news, to support product launches and even for emergency communications.

However there is an art to creating engaging and professional live video that many organisations have not yet explored.

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn how your organisation could be using live streaming platforms* such as Periscope/Twitter Live, Facebook Live, Instagram and YouTube.

You will also learn about live streaming apps and tools that you can use to support your communications plan or for clients.

The topics that will be covered include:

  • Why the accessibility of live streaming provides a key opportunity for communications professionals to deliver engaging communications for their own organisation or for their clients
  • Examples of organisations using live streaming as part of their digital communications
  • How to develop your live streaming programme outline
  • Legal considerations for live streaming including privacy, copyright, disclosures and consent
  • 12 points to consider to help you decide which is the right live stream platform for your organisation
  • Developing a live stream technology toolkit so that you create professional live broadcasts even on a small budget
  • Best practice tips for promoting your live stream to attract viewers in advance of the event
  • How to prepare for a successful live stream before you hit the ‘on-air’ button
  • Learn when it is appropriate to live stream pre-recorded content and tools that make this easy to implement
  • How to engage and retain viewers during the live stream, how you can integrate Messenger bots when using Facebook Live to support your live stream and how to manage disruptors and trolls
  • What to do once your live stream has finished including engaging with viewers, re-purposing content and attracting replay viewers
  • Guidance for working with influencers to help broaden the reach of your live event
  • How to review the performance and success of your live stream
  • An overview of key live stream platforms and apps to familiarise yourself with how each works.

If you want to make sure that your communications plans take into account the best practices of what is working today in live streaming to support your real time communications, then we encourage you to register for this programme as places are limited.

*Note: As the platforms for mobile live streaming are continuing to evolve rapidly, we reserve the right to change the platforms featured, selecting those that are the most relevant for communications professionals at the time of the course running.
