What you'll do

You'll be working with the Head of Business Communications to develop and implement the community affairs strategy and proactive community stakeholder plan for the bank. This will involve leading end-to-end communications campaigns, managing suppliers, and delivering against financial and quality measures.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the relationship with external community stakeholders
  • Driving interaction and engagement, and influencing the strategic and tactical direction of our internal communications
  • Managing Ulster Bank Community programmes such as ‘Do Good, Feel Good’ and  MoneySense
  • Managing the Community budget
  • Building a network of internal contact points both in Ulster Bank and the wider RBS business to work together on shared goals
  • Assisting with launches of initiatives, in conjunction with the wider Business Communications team 

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with a good understanding and experience of working across the bank and building internal networks and contact points.

You'll also need:

  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic and day-today management of community, industry, political and third party issues and groups
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to manage changing priorities and remain focused on key deliverables against demanding time deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and also as part of a team to deliver great work to tight deadlines
  • The ability to set the strategic agenda for community engagement
  • The ability to manage budgets and third party suppliers
