What you'll do

This is an opportunity to have real, direct influence on employee engagement in Ulster Bank, and in doing so to have an indirect influence on delivering our commitments to our customers. Reporting to the Head of Business Communications, you'll be tasked with developing and implementing employee communication and engagement plans which support the bank’s strategy. You'll be delivering communication campaigns from end to end, taking the leading role both with stakeholder relationships, interaction and engagement, and in managing suppliers to deliver against financial and quality measures.

Key aspects of your role will include:

  • Supporting, developing and implementing strategic engagement plans which support and increase our leadership and engagement scores
  • Working with the team to develop a quarterly communications calendar that outlines the key events, activities and initiatives
  • Briefing, researching and writing briefings for the senior leadership team
  • Delivering high quality town halls and other events
  • Engaging with senior business stakeholders to see that the communications programme is fit for purpose, and aligned with business needs and core strategy

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with proven experience in a communications management role, and the strong interpersonal skills needed to work with senior leaders. You'll also show sound relationship management skills, and the ability to engage and influence at executive level. We'll also expect:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to manage changing priorities and remain focused on key deliverables against demanding time deadlines
  • The ability to provide thought leadership, and set direction of senior level communications
  • The ability to manage budgets and third party suppliers
