Key Resonsibilities:

  • Conducting research and drafting policy papers across a wide range of policy areas, including but not limited to, economics, taxation, trade, infrastructure
  • Supporting the work programmes of Chambers Ireland Policy Councils and other internal policy fora by undertaking research and preparing briefing papers, policy positions and other materials
  • Assisting with the effective operation and delivery of Chamber services as required
  • Providing appropriate supports to affiliated Chambers regarding their research and policy activities
  • Contributing to the development of communications plans and public affairs activities, such as drafting articles on policy issues for Chambers Ireland publications and external publications on behalf of the organisation as required
  • Representing Chambers Ireland at relevant external meetings and policy bodies as required
  • Liaising with our membership in respect of Chambers Ireland’s policy agenda including organising and delivering information briefings on key policy issues
  • Assist with the development of new commercial opportunities and services
  • Support the work of the Head of Policy and Public Affairs and the wider public affairs team

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ work experience

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge or Irish and EU/international politics
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong communication and administrative skills
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work efficiently and effectively, both on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel, both in Ireland and abroad, which will often involve working outside office hours
  • Adept at managing expectations of a wide range of stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification, ideally in economics, law or politics
