New research details the impact of the live entertainment industry in Ireland and shows that Music: Arts, Theatre and Comedy events as well as Family Attractions and Exhibitions generate €1.7 billion in additional revenue for the economy.
The Let’s Celebrate 2017 report was compiled by Justin Green FPRII (Life) with economic research by BOP Consulting and in partnership with Fáilte Ireland and IMRO. The study is based on ticket sales by Ticketmaster Ireland over a 12-month period and a survey of over 5,700 event attendees.

Benchmarking the economic and cultural impact of live entertainment this report covers 4 million people attending live events (with nearly 300,000 overseas visitors) and generating 3.7 million hotel bed nights.
It breaks down the impact of these events geographically (Dublin, the rest of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland) and provides a number of case studies on live entertainment across the Island of Ireland.
The report also has contributions from a cross-section of contributors including business groups such as Fáilte Ireland, Chambers Ireland, IMRO (Irish Music Rights Organisation), Dublin City Council, Irish Hotels Federation, Iarnród Eireann, Vintners Federation of Ireland, the Licensed Vintners’ Association, the Lord Mayor of Cork, the GAA, Aviva Stadium and Croke Park.
