Joanne Richardson was appointed Chief Executive of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland in 2002. The Chamber represents the interests of over 600 US multinational businesses, employing almost 100,000 people, in Ireland to policy makers, the business community and the media. She also sits on the board of AmChams Europe, which represents 41 American chambers across the continent, and leads Best Practices for Europe. She was appointed to the board of the Irish Payment Services Organisation in February 2010.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Joanne was general manager for Delta Airlines in Ireland. She was the first Irish national to hold the position and during her tenure there increased Delta’s transatlantic market share to over 15%; expanded operations with year-round flights to Atlanta and New York city; and built a $30 million turnover business.
