About PRII Certificate Courses

PRII's Certificate courses are designed to develop your specialist expertise in key areas of PR and communications.

The focus across all our education programmes is on practical learning and transferable skills. These courses will allow you implement what you have learned, to work more efficiently and contribute more effectively to your own organisation or add extra value for your clients.

Format

Remote Blended Delivery:

Given the ongoing situation with regards to Covid-19 this course is now being delivered using a blended approach. This will consist of

(i)          Introductory in-person lecture (where possible and subject to prevailing public health guidelines) 

(ii)         A series of pre-recorded video lectures which participants can watch in your own time;

(ii)         Live online sessions to discuss the material covered in the videos and associated exercises, as well as to hear from Guest Speakers (with opportunity for live Q&A).

The videos will be posted and then followed up during the following week with a live online session. These sessions will be two hours each. Participants  will be able to review the videos at a time that suits their schedule while also having the opportunity to interact with fellow course participants and the Course Director via the live online sessions.

Assessment & Accreditation

Participants are encouraged to apply learning from the readings, modules and discussions and show how these apply to their own work situation.

Assessment is usually comprised of two elements:

  • A reflective journal. (10% of overall grade).
  • A project. Maximum 3,000 words, applying the learnings to practical work. (90% of overall grade). The assignment will be focused on applying the learnings from the course to practical issues communications challenges faced by participants in their daily work.

These courses are accredited by the Public Relations Institute of Ireland – the professional body for communications and PR.
