PRII Forum
Sustainability and CSR: The New Drivers for Corporate Success
Featuring James Wright MCIPR, Managing Director - CSR, Sustainability and Not-for-Profit, Grayling and PR News (US) International CSR Leader 2008

6.30pm on Wednesday 29 September @ The Davenport Hotel, Dublin 2

Significant evidence of climate change and continuing allegations of irresponsible behaviour by global brands have catapulted the issue of responsible business practice onto board-room tables and into the media spotlight. As corporate social responsibility (CSR) rapidly moves up the policy agenda in Europe and throughout the world, corporate entities, particularly those with international reputations, markets and supply chains to protect, are embracing the opportunities that a swift and appropriate response elicits.

September's PRII forum, Sustainability and CSR: The New Drivers for Corporate Success, homes in on the burgeoning CSR agenda and what it means for the successful companies of the future. Led by James Wright, a board director at Grayling UK and an internationally recognised leading light in this area, James' presentation will:

  • Put the development of sustainability on media, political and social agendas over recent years into context
  • Look at why it came to the fore so quickly and why it is here to stay
  • Provide advice on what makes a good sustainability strategy and the opportunities and pitfalls for engagement and communication
  • Examine the reasons why CSR can be a driver for business growth and development as well as for corporate reputation
  • Explore what the future will bring in terms of global consumer trends, legislation and industry/ global action.

We are also delighted to welcome Rahim O'Neill, CR Consultant - Environment and Sustainability, with Business in the Community Ireland to this session. Rahim's knowledge of CSR developments in the Irish market is unparalleled and his insights will provide a local perspective to complement James' extensive European and international experience.

The Forum begins at 6.30pm sharp, with tea and coffee available from 6pm onwards. Attendance at this event is free for PRII members and costs €15 for non-members. Advance booking is required. To register, e-mail Áine at aine@prii.ie.
